Laura & Dan’s wedding was literally a wedding in paradise- they tied the knot on their own private beach in Paradise Cove, the Whitsundays, Australia. I’m not going to lie; it didn’t take much persuading for me to be their wedding photographer.
Both originally from South West England, the Bride & Groom said ‘I do’ on the other side of the world, which was to become their new home together, in front of 30 of their closest friends & family. Surrounded by bright turquoise ocean and rugged Australian bush…what more could a photographer ask for as a backdrop to the day? A pool? A firepit? OK they had that too!
It was a half hour boat ride away from the famous Airlie Beach, so as the wedding party set off into the big open ocean, singing along to ‘Going to the chapel’ with their chirpy crew members, myself the Bride & Bridesmaids were already at the venue, drinking champagne & taking in the views.
The party arrived into Paradise Cove, they jumped off the boat and were greeted by a clearing in the middle of the forest; palm trees framed the main house and mini cottages. They followed the winding boardwalk to the hidden private beach where the ceremony would take place.
And for the rest of the day? I’ll let the photographs tell the ‘never ending story’ of Laura & Dan’s wedding…
